Distraction has become a masking tool for our souls. Non-stop conventional and social media, screens, and white noise tunes out what matters most, including the voice of God. Replacing chaos with quiet leads to a calmer and more fulfilling life and makes connection with God possible.

No More COMPARING!

When I compare myself to others, if I sense I’m doing better than someone, I feel superior and puffed up and this kills the love in me. If I grade myself worse, then I feel inferior and unworthy and that kills love in me. We do this to ourselves. We make ourselves miserable. Constant comparison is a toxic anti-Kingdom way to live. 

No More DISTRACTION!

It’s likely that our generation experiences more distraction than any other generation in history. We touch our smart phones hundreds of times daily…and unlock them on average 80 times per day. Multi-tasking is the norm despite neuroscience telling us we’re wired to be mono-taskers. What if learning how to be present to God resulted in us being more fully present to others?

There’s two ways to quit complaining. One is to change your external world so there’s no circumstance left to complain about. Good luck with that. The other way is to change your internal world. What if it were possible to treat each day like its manna from God? What if we could learn to identify with attitude and words of the apostle Paul, who described learning how to be content any situation?

We’re created to be fully known, and fully loved. But infatuation with image management and fear of exposure results in us playing an adult version of the childhood game ‘hide and seek.’ As a result, way too many of us live under a cloud of shame and aren’t fully known or loved.

No More RELIGION!

Nobody is in a more danger from religion, than the religious, because religion is often toxic. Religion is a ‘measure up’ way to get to God, where you never measure up. Jesus didn’t force religion on His followers, but something so much better.
