At the end of the Hebrew Bible, our Old Testament, we find a collection of short, yet powerful books known as the Minor Prophets. “Minor,” refers to length, but not to significance, as each of these brief works contains a powerful word from God to His people which challenges the status quo. As we work through the collection we’ll seek a fresh word for us, in this day.
Hosea’s poetry reveals deep truths about God’s character and human nature. God’s ultimate purpose is to heal and save.
We cling to God’s proven character and promises when things are looking bleak!
Kids Weekly Lesson
It may look like the world is evil and out of control, but the promises of God remain. He will: Defeat evil, bring justice to all, and rescue the oppressed.
Within the seemingly contradictory concepts of justice and love is found the future hope for our world.
Our choices matter. Our obedience to God (or lack thereof) makes a difference, and plays a role in how God works in our world.
God’s hopeful promises remain, even when our lives and the world around us are a wild ride. When life and it’s challenges are confusing, we’re invited to look above the chaos and place our hope in the promise of God’s coming Kingdom.
